Laraine is researching her family tree part of which includes the Eeles family from Tetsworth. The earliest information found to date is that of a John Eeles and his wife Abigail in the 1780's. One of their sons Henry 1814 and his wife Mary Lindars is her line of descent. Having already gathered information on the Lindars family, she would love to hear from anyone else researching the Eeles family, who may have further information, photos etc. Please contact Laraine at lolly@welland0809.freeserve.co.uk

Tetsworth Primary School Association

The Friends of Tetsworth School organisation has been running for a number years, in support of the school, but there has, at times, been some confusion over the organisation’s role in the wider community. In a bid to address this, the current committee has recently decided to rename ourselves as the Tetsworth Primary School Association (TPSA), so it is absolutely clear that our work is linked to the school.

We are essentially a fund raising body that supports the school in every way we can by raising funds, supporting school events, and increasing awareness of the school and its developments, within the local community. We focus on raising funds for school equipment and more importantly school trips and luxuries that the children otherwise wouldn’t get in the day to day running of the school. Our group is run entirely by volunteers and we rely on the parents, teachers and villagers to support us in our endeavors.

Our work is all the more important now with the school extension plans firmly on the horizon. There are a number of things we are now preparing to fund raise for in earnest! We are looking at a list of new equipment that the school may need, with the extra space they will gain, and are also looking at sponsoring the proposed new library area. This would be an ideal project for us as it will benefit each and every child, and for years to come.

In line with our new name, we recently ran a logo competition amongst the children at the school, asking them to design us a logo. This is currently being judged by villager Helen Hobdale, who is well known to the school for her work with the Art Den club. Once we have the logo agreed and artworked we will include this on all our correspondence and event communication.

We have a number of events in the pipeline which we would ask you to support in any way you possibly can, details of which will be listed in the Tetsworth newsletter. We are always looking for local sponsors to help with these events, so if you are willing to help, in any small way, please do get in touch.

Buried in St. Giles' Church Cemetery. he m. Elizabeth Alden/Alder b. 1808 Islip, Oxfordshire, England and d. Aug 1876 Thame Dist., Oxfordshire, England. They had 10 children: William, George, James, John, Elizabeth, Ann, Richard, Mary Ann, Harry Edward, and Emily.
